Blueberry, beet and kale smoothie

I gave up gluten for Lent. So far, I've cheated three times, and have found countless other loopholes and ways to get a fix . . . like the flourless chocolate cake I made (and ate most of) yesterday.

So, today, I concocted a smoothie of
blueberries, beets and kale in an attempt to offset my chocolate binge.

Using the kale and beets from our farm share box, and organic blueberries and vanilla almond milk, I used this recipe for inspiration, and adapted based on what was in the fridge:



1 chopped beet
1 handful of kale
1/2 cup of blueberries
1/2 cup to 1 cup vanilla almond milk (adjust for thickness)
1 handful of ice cubes
**Combine all ingredients and blend
